  "Dove vai /
Where are you going?"

During the early 1980s Lizzie Líbera spent a few years in Rome and Bari and travelled frequently inside Italy. It was the time of the big "cantautori" like roman Francesco de Gregori and genovese Fabrizio de André with their ultimate poetical lyrics as well as strong and rebellious female voices like Gianna Nannini, Loredana Berté and Gabriella Ferri.

Líbera also discovered famous popular singers like Paolo Conte, Lucio Dalla and Mina just like the folksound of the traditional "canzone napoletana".

The young German singer soon fell in love with all of them and started to cover and translate some of her favourite songs. Doing so, Líbera sometimes slips into her Italian alter ego - a slightly eccentric "cousin" called Gina Líbera - only to dedicate herself to the breathtaking beauty of classical italian (pop) songs.
By the way: Líbera's version of Luigi Tenco's Vedrai, vedrai became the audience' favourite at a "San Remo Revival Night" in Berlin a few years ago.
