"Being here being there" |

This program offers some of the
most elaborate poetical work of the composer
Lizzie Líbera. The artist has long specialized in picking
up the lyrics of Russian, Italian, French and English poets
and poetesses, singing them both in the original and her own
German version. Here we also find her translations of famous
italian cantautori Francesco de Gregori and Fabrizio de André.
Lizzie Líbera's talent to melt language and melody into
authentical interpretation transfers thus even 19th century
literature to the 21st century, like the work of the famous
French poet Paul Verlaine or Russian poetesses Marina Zwetajewa,
Anna Achmatowa and Sinaida Gippius.

By putting music to the verses
of German writers like Mascha Kaléko, Hermann Hesse,
Rainer Maria Rilke und Erich Kästner Lizzie Líbera
has also succeded in saving some of the spirit of classical
poetry.
Altogether an unusual program to discover some of the roots
of European poetry
